Dear Colleague, With projects funded under H2020 being subject to EC surveillance for as long as five years after their completion, knowing and understanding all applicable financial rules is a must-have attribute for H2020 project managers. At the same time, a simplified audit and control system was introduced in the frame of the new programming period, making it of utmost importance to understand all novelties-investment focus, financial rules, and simplification - before starting your next Horizon Europe project.
Involved in a series of funded projects ourselves, we are aware that the EC is identifying more than 70% of errors during the ex-post audits, while extending the findings to non-audited reporting periods of the grant, as well as to any other grant of this beneficiary, resulting in administrative and financial penalties. For this reason, at European Academy we worked with former Auditors of the European Commission to develop the course on "Financial Administration & Auditing Preparation for E.C. Funded Projects", aiming to cover all the essentials of both programming periods and to help simplify the transition from the old to the new programme. This course has been specifically designed to address the needs of project managers, accountants, financial officers and controllers of both H2020 and Horizon Europe projects.
