Hi, The following vulnerability was published for vtk6. CVE-2021-42521[0]: | There is a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in VTK before 9.2.5, | and it lies in IO/Infovis/vtkXMLTreeReader.cxx. The vendor didn't | check the return value of libxml2 API 'xmlDocGetRootElement', and try | to dereference it. It is unsafe as the return value can be NULL and | that NULL pointer dereference may crash the application. https://gitlab.kitware.com/vtk/vtk/-/issues/17818 If you fix the vulnerability please also make sure to include the CVE (Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures) id in your changelog entry. For further information see: [0] https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2021-42521 https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2021-42521 Please adjust the affected versions in the BTS as needed. -- debian-science-maintainers mailing list [email protected] https://alioth-lists.debian.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/debian-science-maintainers
