I asked upstream about the patches used in the Debian package, and got several comments and suggestsions, available from <URL: https://github.com/aewallin/opencamlib/issues/157 >. I am also poking upstream for a new upstream release, hopefully fixing some of the issues addressed in the Debian patches.
