The buildds will only ever try installing the first alternative, but
any alternative will satisfy dpkg-buildpackage.  So if you really want
to keep the alternative, you need libwxgtk3.0-dev first.  I wouldn't
bother myself - wheezy-backports has wx3, and if you're backporting
to other versions, having to tweak debian/control isn't onerous (and
you'll have to for auto-built backports anyway).
