Hi!

I am in the process of renaming the source package mpich2 to mpich, as well
as to upgrade it to version 3.0.3.

The current GIT path is:

git://git.debian.org/debian-science/packages/mpich2.git

According to Debian Science Policy,

http://debian-science.alioth.debian.org/debian-science-policy.html

the GIT path should be changed to

git://git.debian.org/debian-science/packages/mpich.git

Quote from the policy document: "The Package Repository name has to be the
name of the source package followed by a ".git" extension"

Can I simply move the repository, thus making the old GIT path invalid?
Will that be a problem? Or must I make a copy of the old repository, and
leave the old one until "mpich2" is no longer in circulation in any
supported Debian release?

Thanks!
