Dear Debian Science and Java Team, I've updated my package "jsamp" (binary package: "libjsamp-java"). The current upstream version is "1.3-3". Moreover, the package contains a watch file and a file "debian/orig-tar.sh" which provides an "orig.tar.gz" from the upstream zip archive.
The JSAMP library is interesting for developers of astronomical clients to provide interoperability to other clients via the Simple Application Messaging Protocol (SAMP) which has been developed within the Virtual Observatory (VO) project. Additionally, the JSAMP library is also used by the two popular VO applications "Topcat" and "Aladin" which are going to be packaged in the near future. A git repository has been created at http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=debian-science/packages/jsamp.git . In the meanwhile, the package has been removed from mentors.debian but I can re-upload it to that place if required. Any kind of packaging help or comments on the current status of this package is appreciated. Moreover, it offers a set of classes which can be used to implement SAMP capabilities in client applications. JSAMP provides a hub test and a benchmarking suite to examine the correctness and performance of third-party hub implementations. The software includes hub and client implementations of the standard and web profiles and a bridge component, which allows clients on different hubs to talk to each other. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
