Hello,

I'm reaching out to see if there is any interest in this group to revive
the package of the reference management software Zotero. Zotero used to be
packaged in Debian but an update broke the packaging. There were some
efforts to repackage the standalone version 5, but I think interest waned.
I personally do not have any experience packaging software.

Please see the related bug reports which are now closed (
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=864827,
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=871502,
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=864827).

A workaround on x86 is to use the flatpak version, which works well.
However, it would be nice to have the source package in Debian and also for
it to be built for ARM, given the rising popularity of ARM systems such as
Raspberry Pi and Pinebook Pro. There is an ARM build of Zotero in the Arch
repo (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/zotero-arm-bin/).

Cheers,
Eric
