Regarding ROOT and CLHEP: I eventually plan to update them, but it's not easy (ROOT is quite big, CLHEP has almost unusable cmake build files). You fight packaging for ROOT here [1] and for CLHEP here [2]. ROOT works, CLHEP not really.
