Field API aims to ease the management and the transfer of data between CPUs and GPUs for the Météo-France/ECMWF software. The API is using fypp heavily to generate the code for several types and dimensions. It might look complicated, but if you are just using the API then you should not worry about it. I intend to maintain this within the Debian science team.
