This might be a red herring, but are you running sbuild with the
performance tweaks explained in the wiki[0], by any chance? I'm using
all of them.
yes, I am also using all of them although my tmpfs setup follows the
guidance in an older version of the sbuild wiki page (see first
alternative on [0]).
