YAO -- yet another option -- is to carry a Linux microdistribution including ssh support. The LinuxCare bootable business card doesn't include SSH, but comes with an installer which works like a charm in most instances. If you can find a system with a network connection and an accessible cdrom drive, you're set.
The image itself is not yet be available at Linuxcare ( http://www.linuxcare.com/bootable_cd/ ), though you may find it elsewhere. With the image, you can burn the BBC onto a standard or "business card" format CDROM (the latter is available from a number of sources).
