You could have a proper MTA outside the chroots (like postfix or exim). And a bogus, stupid, cat-it-to-localhost-port-25 MTA inside the chroot, like ssmtp :-) -- "One disk to rule them all, One disk to find them. One disk to bring them all and in the darkness grind them.
