Package: lintian Version: 1.20.8 Severity: wishlist Note that as of new sgml-base's, /usr/lib/sgml is deprecated and /usr/share/sgml is where all SGML related files should go. It would be nice if lintian emitted a warning for packages still installing stuff (perhaps disregarding compatability symlinks) in /usr/lib/sgml.
Likewise, install-sgmlcatalog is deprecated. It's still legit to use 'install-sgmlcatalog --quiet --remove' to remove the old deprecated catalog entries, however. Also note that packages using /usr/share/sgml and the new update-catalog need a versioned depends on sgml-base 1.0.7 or better. -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: sparc Kernel: Linux arroz 2.2.18pre21 #1 Wed Nov 22 17:12:06 EST 2000 sparc64 Versions of packages lintian depends on: ii binutils 2.10.1.0.2-1 The GNU assembler, linker and bina ii diffstat 1.28-1 produces graph of changes introduc ii file 3.33-4 Determines file type using "magic" ii perl 5.6.0-20 Larry Wall's Practical Extracting ii perl [perl5] 5.6.0-20 Larry Wall's Practical Extracting
