        on sparc?  I haven't seen anything about sparc.

        The use of egcs instead of gcc is mainly as a C++ compiler,
but libstdc++ doesn't currently work on Sparc, so we cannot chose :)

        Latest egcs in slink still doesn't work compiled on sparc.
