Status of Debian in Sparcs/Ultra Sparcs

        My teacher is asking me for help him install Linux at two Sun that he is
buying. I didn't know yet if is 32 or 64 bits (Ultras or not). Browsing the
Debian sites, I noted that the Sparc distribution is ahead Ultra. Am I wrong?
        Also, if is 32 bits, how do I start?
        Is it simple like PCs? I have only knowledge of installing in PCs with 
Debian.
        Also, 32 bits is planned to shiped with 2.1 slink?
