i have finally received the SPARCstation 10 that the Vice President of Marketing for the Concorde Group, a Sun OEM reseller, has loaned to Debian. once we attain non-profit status it may/will become a donation. hopefully we can establish a partnership with Concorde Group as they are interested in integrating Linux into their product line. it would be nice if the Linux they chose to integrate was Debian. but that's another story :P
Nils is still working on the press release regarding this loan / donation. i completed the base install yesterday. perhaps this is a good time to use it to sort out some of the glibc2.1 issues, Ben. post me or catch me on #debian-devel. for the record, here is the spec on the machine: 128MB S10 motherboard S10 chassis GFX-GX color frame buffer 100mhz processor 2 1.2 GB disks floppy Sun type 5c keyboard and Compact 1 mouse 19" color monitor while it could have been faster, this is nonetheless a Nice system. i May be able to get my firm to loan a 9gb disk for this system. it is still on my internal network and for whatever reason it can't seem to boot from the hard disk and i have not had time today to sort that out. i used the 2.1.8.1-1999-03-01 boot disks for the install. regards, muggles -- Nihil Est
