Ok, I got a 2.2.10 kernel to compile and boot but I had to disable SMP. As I 
have a
1000 with 4 CPUs and a 1000e with 2 cpus, this is a big problem. I'm 
downloading the
ac8 patch right now and I'll see if that helps.
