cross-compiling ?

Hi,

Is anybody cross-compiling packages for sparc on, say linux-x86 ?

I understand it should be possible by installing the cross-compiling
tools.
The sparc5 I recently installed debian is a bit slow...

Any advice/experiences welcome.
