Please file these bug reports. Branden is currently redoing the SPARC patches in these servers to sync them with Jakub's. Now's the time to get this done :) FYI, the Mach64 server with GPM using /dev/sunmouse works just fine without any conflicts, so I think there is something else amiss here. However, for my AXe system, I had to use psaux and have gpm setup as a ps2 repeater for X. Note, GPM will not repeat using the sun protocol, which is the only thing (AFAIK) that the Xsun servers understand. So using the repeater for them wont work.
