RedHat vs. Debian on SS10

Hi all.  The reason I am looking at getting Debian working on my SS10 is
because of some apparent problems with RedHat and slow SCSI I/O, SCSI
controller reset errors, and system crashes.  Does anyone know if Debian
addresses these issues?
