Hiya... I have recently acquired a SparStation 20 pizza box with no floppy drive and no cdrom drive. I want to install Debian on it, and I was wondering if there is a way to net boot without being on a LAN with another TFTP server.
To add to the difficulties, the machine was originally configured as an NIS slave, and now I cannot get it to boot the Solaris operating system. And even if I could, I'm not sure I would be able to login anyway. I have been able to get to the openboot prompt, and I can use the ethernet card, so I am hoping there is a way that I can get rid of the Solaris OS and replace it with Debian (I don't care about any information that is currently on the machine). I am a complete newbie, and I tried looking for the answer to my situation through the install manual and various FAQs, but I've come up with nothing. If I do have to make another machine a boot server, I have a machine running Windows2000 that I could use. Looking through the install manuals, I have only seen info for setting up a Linux or Unix machine as the boot server. Thanks in advance and I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere... RAY
