Hello All- I have reached the point where I am very close to getting everything squared away with Debian (Woody) on a new SunBlade 100 workstation. I think the port of the OS to the Sparc platform is an impressive accomplishment. Kudos to all who have contributed to the project. For me, the big exception to "everything working right" is the X configuration--specifically the following lines from the output from 'startx':
(II) LoadModule: "bitmap" (WW) Warning, couldn't open module bitmap (II) UnloadModule: "bitmap" (EE) Failed to load module "bitmap" (module does not exist, 0) (II) LoadModule: "pcidata" (WW) Warning, couldn't open module pcidata (II) UnloadModule: "pcidata" (EE) Failed to load module "pcidata" (module does not exist, 0) With minimal digging, I found other working Linux configurations with libbitmap.a installed in /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/fonts, but there is neither a libbitmap.a nor a libpcidata.a file to be found on the entire system. Any suggestions for getting around this problem? Rebuilding X from source seems like a pretty drastic step, so I thought I would ask first. Thank you in advance for any ideas...
