I did not want to use the mouse, that was just the only way how to test the port. I wanted to connect APC BackUPC 350 with a custom serial cable and it didn't work out. Because I couldn't be sure the built cable is OK, I tried the mouse. I have no other serial device. Do you know any better way how to ensure that the port works? -- Honza Houstek
