Well done Martin. debian_noob, take a look at http://www.osinvestor.com/sparc/ http://www.ultralinux.org http://www.kernel.org too. IMHO your startpoint is a gcc crosscompiler running on Solaris 8 and much time/knowlege ... but it's very much easyer to install a Distribution like debian, suse, aurora (RH), bsd or something else. There is no basic "mixed mode" between Solaris and Linux but you may run Aplications crossover. btw, You can use Linux Software on Solaris, try http://sunfreeware.com/ for this.
