I hope you installed woody. If so, make sure xserver-xfree86 is installed and do: dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 -- Debian - http://www.debian.org/ Linux 1394 - http://www.linux1394.org/ Subversion - http://subversion.tigris.org/
