Yeap. I've seen similar stuff on Splack, Gentoo and Sid while using two
X clients.
Except that if I actually have two clients running, there doesn't seem
to be a problem; it's only when I go through the motions of switching to
a second X session when there's not one that the machine hangs.
It wouldn't be so bad if I could ssh in and kill offending processes,
but the CPUs are located in another room (VGA & USB extension cables
through the wall), and there's only two or three people with access to
that room (it's a server room), so when they lock up, the students using
the machines are locked out of the machine until one of us key-bearers
goes into the server room and cycles the power on the box. Quite
inconvenient.
Thanks for the info!
