Funny, I did about the same thing, just 10 days ago. But I did a net boot and an ordinary woody base install (as minimal as possible). After that, I upgraded to unstable, and then compiled a 2.6.5 kernel with gcc 3.3. This was on a sun blade 100. (I tried a sarge net install first, but it didn't work. I don't know what the error was anymore, but I believe it was a known problem.) Admar
