Dear listmembers,
currently I am restoring data on my sparc because I upgraded my harddrive. Now
I found that symlinks have been created during backup with tar, because the
targets existed, however, during restore into an empty drive tar did not
recreate the symlinks but empty files of zero size.
Sorry for the off-topic, but can anyone tell me which option would make tar
restore symlinks even if they point into nowhere? I digged through the tar
manual but did not find the right answer to this.
