My experience is, that the mentioned "Kernel panic" always happens, when 
the solaris kernel has been running before. So I have to press the 
STOP-A combination as soon as possible after _switching on_ the SPARC. 
Respecting this, it always worked for me. Just a reset via OpenBoot 
wasn't enough.
