I did install testing, and the kernel image being utilized is already 2.6.15. Any ideas how to debug a problem like this, what additional information to collect/provide. After "Switching root ..." what should be happening next? What kernel was installed and thus is now booted? If you installed testing, that was probably 2.6.12. In that case it would make sense to try again as 2.6.15 has very recently migrated to testing.
