Hello there,I´m using a Debian Sarge version for Sparc, running in a E420, and when I run ethtool command, I get server:~# ethtool eth0 Settings for eth0: Supported ports: [ TP MII ] Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full Supports auto-negotiation: Yes Advertised link modes: Not reported Advertised auto-negotiation: No Speed: 100Mb/s Duplex: Half Port: Twisted Pair PHYAD: 0 Transceiver: internal Auto-negotiation: on What can I do to get a Full duplex setting in a Happy Meal interface card?
Force both sides of the link to 100/full. I recall HMEs having difficulty autonegotiating with certain network equipment.
This server has a quad ethernet card, and I have no cable connected there, and because of that I´m receiving this messages eth1: Link down, cable problem? eth2: Link down, cable problem? eth3: Link down, cable problem? eth4: Link down, cable problem? eth1: Auto-Negotiation unsuccessful, trying force link mode eth2: Auto-Negotiation unsuccessful, trying force link mode eth3: Auto-Negotiation unsuccessful, trying force link mode eth4: Auto-Negotiation unsuccessful, trying force link mode What do I have to do to stop to generate this messages ?
Set the interfaces to be administratively "down" rather than "up." Thanks, E
