-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi List, I wanted to reinstall my Blade 100 today after I replaced the harddisk that died on my 2 days ago and decided to go with Etch 40r1 but e never got that darn thing to boot.
First I tried the net boot way it got the image from the tftp server just fine but just froze as soon as it wrote Booting Linux... next try was the netinstall CD with all the mabojambo (Install video=atyfb:off ide=nodma DEBIAN_FRONTEND=text) once again it faild with Booting Linux... So next I installed sarge via net install. That worked just like it should and a couple of minutes later it rebooted into sarge. Next step I upgraded to plain old vanilla etch (without security deb line). I did everything the release notes recommended to do. Did that just a couple of days ago on an Ultra 60 tried an reboot and well it died as before. Did the install sarge upgrade to etch dance once again with the kernel from sec.deb same result and I got the same result with the kernel from etch-proposed-updates and before you ask yes i tried this also with atyfb:off in silo.conf and without it Only think left to try is the kernel from backports.org Has anyone any idea? greets Uwe -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFG8pS0mDkRS+2sqmURAtspAJ92Tu28S6m/Kj1mteLODpFT60lDTACfTE3S igUmrYDVM/RNNSG6Jib0fj4= =uHRo -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
