These could actually be completely separate events. The backtrace below did
not indicate any calls from or to the ext4 filesystem code, not even
something from the VFS code I don't think. It seems like just generic
SPARC SMP code that failed while being called from the memory management
code. (Ugly, that.)

I would have now told you to file two bug reports on the
linux-image-2.6.38-1-sparc64-smp package, but then I realized
that you're using an old version. Please upgrade to
linux-image-2.6.38-2-sparc64-smp first.
