Hi, If the first test doesn't show your choosen IP then none of the other checks/tests will work. Seems like you didn't reload your new configuration.. Check what you have configured in /etc/network/interfaces is still there.
Then type */etc/init.d/networking restart* or *ifup eth0* And ifconfig again to make sure the IPs are there. Anyways I'm off to bed, if you're still having trouble I'm sure someone here will point you the right way. Although your questions are so fundamental you're better off just googling the answers.
