A patch for this bug is now upstream: https://github.com/openssh/openssh-portable/commit/1f1d63e16b5ce67f6f2f1170ec7221f1e6bff530 The patch also seems to remove the MAX_PATH limit for the socket name length, although this is not mentioned in the commit message. It will be part of the OpenSSH 10.3 release.
