The changes are not strictly required for operation, but users of the previous version in squeeze might get warnings. The bug fixes that are part of this release include security-relevant fixes relating to issues with the parsing of some archive formats (CVE-2012-1419, CVE-2012-1457, CVE-2012-1458, CVE-2012-1459). If you use clamav, we highly recommend you upgrade to this version.
