have modutils v. 2.4.x, and bin86 installed. I built kernel 2.4.12. ran lilo, etc.
kernel has elf support statically compiled. At lilo prompt, I choose my new kernel, I see the kernel decompression message, then I see a message saying the kernel is loaded OK. But this is the last message I see.
