Maybe is a bug, i'm not really sure. I have formated to reiserFS and when debian is booting with kernel 2.4.20 with preemptive and lowlatency patches it says:
cramfs: wrong magic reiserfs: checking transaction log (device 03:45) ... Using r5 hash to sort names ReiserFS version 3.6.25 VFS: Mounted root (reiserfs filesystem) readonly.
