Has anyone (or everyone?) else been plagued by messages like these while using apt-get?
Need to get 3905k of archives. After unpacking 3987k will be used. Do you want to continue? [Y/n] y Get http://ftp1.us.debian.org unstable/main libstdc++2.9 [104k] Error http://ftp1.us.debian.org unstable/main libstdc++2.9 404 Not Found Get http://ftp1.us.debian.org unstable/main egcc [800k] Error http://ftp1.us.debian.org unstable/main egcc 404 Not Found Get http://ftp1.us.debian.org unstable/main g++ [1210k] Error http://ftp1.us.debian.org unstable/main g++ 404 Not Found The problem, of course, is that the Packages file on the ftp site is out of date. For example, according to Packages, the latest libstdc++ is version 2.91.59-2, but this version has already been deleted from the ftp site, and 2.91.60-1 is in it's place. apt-get fails because it's looking for 2.91.59-2. The first few times this happened, I thought, well, the server's messed up for the moment, I'll try again later, but it seems that the Packages file is out of date more often than not. This makes it almost impossible to use apt to install the latest files, which is, after all, what testers are supposed to be doing. Is there a fix for this or do I have to go back to ftp and dpkg?
