Am I missing something...

When I set this computer up so that it only addresses 2.5M of the 3M above
the 640k + 384k mark (i.e., I have 3.5M RAM), the kernel will not boot.
It spits out --- less than 4M RAM, then freezes (no CTL-ALT-DEL).

The initial RAM disk is set up and linux gets loaded.

I should be able to boot with the lowmem floppy (via rawrite2 and
lowmem.bin) in fd0 and then just hit ENTER at the boot: prompt,
right?

later,

        Bruce
