Hi, just wanted to report that resc1440 from disks-i386/2.2.1-1999-10-22 fails on a Compaq DeskPro XL 5133. For those who don't know it is a weird EISA/PCI box with a Pentium 133, 32Mb RAM and an AMD combined SCSI/Ethernet chip.
The floppy boots, loads Linux and then at the SCSI detection phase you get an Oops (NULL dereference) and the kernel panics. Never even makes it to init. I have tried it with Debian 2.1 boot disks i386 2.1.9-1999-03-03 and they boot fine, recognising the SCSI adapter correctly. For info the contents of /proc/pci show the SCSI controller to be an AMD 53C974 (driver AM53/79C974 PCscsi) and the Ethernet controller is and AMD 79C970 (lance - which doesn't load complaining about a "resource busy problem" but never mind this bit). Hope this is of help, Ciao, Arrigo -- Arrigo Triulzi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Netherhall House, London, UK -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
