I recently purchased a copy of Debian Linux version 2.1 along with a
book. Upon trying to install, I discovered that the kernel fails to
detect my SCSI adapter and hangs. I understand that this is a know bug,
and that there is a possible work-around by adding the aix7xxx=no_probe
option at boot time.
Could you tell me the exact syntax of that option - what exactly do I
enter at the
boot:
prompt to turn off autodetection of the Adaptec AHA-2940 SCSI card?

Thanks,
    Peter
