Würde ich so nicht machen. Mach lieber einen Eintrag wie:
127.0.0.1 cyrix.selbsterfundene.domain cyrix

Fetchmail sendet doch ein EHLO, nicht smail.

Da het der Anti-Spam Mechanismus zugeschlagen.
Ich schlage folgendes in /etc/smail/config vor:
more_hostnames=cyrix
-smtp_hello_verify_ptr
smtp_remote_allow=127.0.0.1:cyrix
-smtp_hello_verify
-smtp_hello_verify_literal
smtp_hello_broken_allow=*
