Merci à frédéric Bothamy pour son aide.
La solution: dans le fichier /etc/console-tools/config
modifier l'entrée BLANK_TIME qui contient le nombre de minutes
d'inactivité avant l'extinction de l'écran.
Un BLANK_TIME=1 a donc satisfait ma demande.
