Ich gebe zu, die Sache ist etwas verwirrend und ich beginne gerade
selber erst da durchzublicken. Ich war auch immer in dem Glauben,
/etc/apt/apt.conf w�re die Konfigurationsdatei f�r apt-get und aptitude
h�tte ne eigene, aber dem ist nicht so, wie ein Blick in manpage
zeigt:
$ man apt.conf

apt.conf is the main configuration file for the APT suite of tools,
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
all tools make use of the configuration file and a common command line
parser to provide a uniform environment. When an APT tool starts up it
will read the configuration specified by the APT_CONFIG environment
variable (if any) and then read the files in Dir::Etc::Parts then read
the main configuration file specified by Dir::Etc::main then finally
apply the command line options to override the configuration directives,
possibly loading even more config files.
The configuration file is organized in a tree with options organized
into functional groups. option specification is given with a double
colon nota- tion, for instance APT::Get::Assume-Yes is an option within
the APT tool group, for the Get tool. options do not inherit from their
parent groups
D.h., alles was mit APT:: anf�ngt sind Optionen f�r die
apt-*-Werkzeuge und haben nichts mit aptitude zu tun. Dessen Optionen
fangen mit APTITUDE:: an, anders Gruppen sind ACQUIRE, DIRECTORIES usw.
siehe apt.conf(5).
Das Problem ist, das diese Manpage veraltet ist und nicht auf aptitude
eingeht, �ber dessen Beziehung zu apt.conf erf�hrt man nur in aptitude-doc
etwas Gescheites, aptitudes Manpage ist da auch nicht sehr gespr�chig zu
den Hintergr�nden. Jetzt seh ich, das ein Teil der
aptitude-Dokumentation in /usr/share/aptitude liegt, und nicht in
/usr/share/doc, aargh! Da wird es einem auch nicht leicht gemacht.
Wie auch immer, aptitude-doc sagt:
Locations of configuration files
aptitude's configuration is read from the following sources, in order:
1. The user's configuration file, ~/.aptitude/config. This file is
overwritten when the user modifies settings in the Options menu.
2. The system configuration file, /etc/apt/apt.conf.
3. Default values stored in /usr/share/aptitude/aptitude-defaults.
4. Default values built into the program.
When an option is being checked, these sources are searched in order,
and the first one that provides a value for the option is used. For
instance, setting an option in /etc/apt/apt.conf will override
aptitude's defaults for that option, but will not override user settings
in ~/.aptitude/config.
Das "setting an option" bezieht sich dann nur auf APTITUDE::-Direktiven.
Hoffe ich habe zur Verwirrung beigetragen. Die ganze Dokumentation
erscheint mir noch verbesserungsw�rdig, gerade wenn aptitude das
Standardwerkzeug werden soll.
