Hast Du auch schön Deine /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf configuriert?
Das ist enwandfrei ne LEER ssmtp.conf
Also für

sowie AuthMethod hatte ich einen Bugreport geschrieben,
denn das zeigt er immer an...

ist nicht komisch, denn ssmtp wird als $USER www-data gestartet und
/var/www scheint ja dessen $HOME zu sein wobei das schreibgeschützt ist.
