hallo, Gerd,
sorry - ich hatte zwischendurch Apache2 kompiliert, weil es mit den 
apt-get Apaches nicht funktionierte.
Ich kann

- apt-get remove / install apache ausf�hren, die danach vorhandene 
/etc/apache/httpd.conf bearbeiten, es kommt keine Ausf�hrung von 
PHP-seiten zustande.

very strange.
ich werd jetzt nochmal
- updatedb ausf�hren
- apt-get remove apache, php, squirrelmail
- server restart
- apt-get install apache, squirrelmail, php4.
und dann schaun wir mal.

Problem sein? in der httpd.conf steht doch der Eintrag f�r php4...?!

Du schickst uns die config von apache, aber du verwendest apache2 ;) . 
Dann sollte deine config unter /etc/apache2 liegen. Welcher apache 
l�uft denn (ps) ? Evtl. mal /etc/init.d/apache stop und 
/etc/init.d/apache2 start ausf�hren (oder anders herum ;) ).
