http://www.giptables.org/ para configurar o iptables e fazer nat ?
Somente por curiosidade. Para aprender mesmo, quero fazer minhas regras
no braço, para aprender :)

2.2 e
2.4, a unica coisa eh que no kernel 2.4 voce precisa habilitar o ipchains, mas
nada lhe impede de utilizar o iptables para fazer o masquerading. Na net voce
vai encontrar bastante informacao sobre iptables e masquerading
