você, do linux do hda, consegue ver o windows do hdb? tente fdisk /dev/hdb ou montar o hdb. Se não conseguir pode ser algo errado na bios (por exemplo, não detectou o segundo hd quando ligou os dois). Se conseguir, volte a quebrar a cabeça com o grub (e nos avise).
