Faça o seguinte ..
no grub ..
tecle e
opçao kernel, tecle e novamente..
-no final da linha coloca: init=/bin/bash ...
tecle enter, debou b(boot)
mount -o remount,rw /
mount /usr ..se estiver numa partiçao diferente
passwd root ... passwd root (2x senao nao funciona!)
